TALESPIN Reviews:
"Mid-Michigan's resident beach boy delivers his finest island/country-folk album yet, sure to get Parrotheads soaring with umbrella drinks in tow. The 14-track collection even includes his nostalgic “April in the D” Tigers tribute from a couple of years back. Includes a DVD . . . Michigan artists come through with compelling new releases."

"You've clearly outdone yourself here! (Talespin CD/DVD) I liked all the songs, but the title cut, in my humble opinion, really stands out, and I'm debuting it on tomorrow's show."

“I just listened to/watched Don Middlebrook’s new release, “Talespin”. Many consider Don the original Trop Rocker. This CD is a must for all Trop Rock fans.
I enjoyed the cd, a more introspective side of Don Middlebrook. The songs are about life, friends, history, bikers and flyers.
Talespin is going to be added to the play rotation on Trop Rock Radio on Live365."

“Saugatuck-based singer-songwriter Don Middlebrook carries a love for tropical music or "trop-rock," as he lovingly calls it. As Middlebrook sees it, he's on a mission to bring an easygoing, Gulf Coast vibe to the chilly northern states. The set rings with high-energy, tropical-sounding rock that whisks the listener away to a warmer, more relaxing place."

"Aloha Don! It sure was great seeing you & Laurie in Key West! We always enjoy hangin' with you! And, of course, listening to you sing as well! Lol! And I have to mention this...you ALWAYS make me feel so special when you say hi to me during the middle of one of your songs! Lol! I am LOVIN' the new cd! It's really good! It's so nice to have me some new music of yours! The 'old' ones get played a lot, so this is quite exciting!"
Debbie Hess
“Don Middlebrook, a Michigan based Singer Songwriter, has just released a Trop Rock Gem called “Talespin”. . . Every song tells a new story, each one as interesting as the next. The album closes with a heartfelt cover of the Buffett classic “A Pirate Looks at Forty”, which is extremely well done! The musicians on board are all amazing as well, including Chris Corey on keyboards, Hank Mowrey on harmonica, Angela Fata singing background vocals, Steve Ewers on drums and Hank Horton on bass."

Enjoy your music very much. I also work with an old friend of yours, Pete Cooley, here in Jackson.
Good Morning Don! Still loving the new cd!
Got the cd, don, put all the songs on my playlist. In fact, played 3 in-a-row to start off the day yesterday. Thanks again
Melinda Young brags about your music all the time, so I think we should be friends.
LOVE IT!! It's IMPOSSIBLE to pic a favorite song. The DVD is FAB too!! Was SO surprised to see the SCPHC 2010 MOTM's group pic and our 2011 annual pool party "Fins Up" pic!! Thanks for playing at our event last weekend. You need to get to the Fort more often! You should get some gig's on the deck in the summer months at Dicky's Wild Hare or at El Azteca or Hall's Gas House Deck on the river!!!
GREAT CD and DVD !!!!
Talespin is a GREAT CD! Good job to Living Soul! Now, you all go buy it :))
